Matt

Matt Crum (everything except harmonica 'cos he's not allowed)

Matt is Ted's son, although neither will usually admit to this relationship. Now in his twenties, age is setting in fast, with the unfortunate effect of making Matt look rather like a hobbit (see photo). He does have hairy feet.

Always somehow involved in folk music, (due both to his mother's insatiable interest in Morris dancing, and Ted's varied musical exploits); Matt's musical career began before he'd care to remember. He joined the reformed ranks of the Somerville Gentleman's Ceilidh Band in the early 1990s playing keyboard rather badly and hoping that nobody could hear him; this unfortunately did not last very long.

Before joining the infamous Chinewrde Band, Matt was also involved in the Crum Family Band, again on Keys.

Moving to Soprano Sax caused a huge leap in Matt's success, as almost no-one knew what one was. He has, on this instrument, played with the Chinewrde Band, Mallemarokers (now sadly defunct), The Peeping Tom Big Band, and most recently the Great White Steamchicken. These bands have taken him the length and breadth of the country, playing at many large festivals and having great fun doing so.

Now based in Leeds, following his degree in Popular and World Music, Matt has developed the other main side of his musical interest through a jazz quartet (playing piano) and his band "add9" which has played all around the city, and has played at the Edinburgh festival in August 2005 & 6.

Matt is a musician for the renowned Black Swan Rapper Team (as seen on TV).
