One of the UK's premier Ceilidh bands, Steamchicken deliver deluxe 'chicken style' ceilidhs, complete with all the trimmings.

Expect jazzed-up dance music, excellent calling, silliness from the horn section, bap baps (whatever that means?) and lots of fun.

With over 20 years experience, Steamchicken are a favourite with dancers and callers alike and will keep you entertained both on and off the dancefloor.

Steamchicken in concert features the powerful vocals of Amy Kakoura, and pin sharp horn arrangements by Matt Crum.

For 2015 the band have a whole new set; writing and arranging a fusion of folk with roots and blues; and plan to record shortly. Their powerful live set is guaranteed to set feet tapping and takes the ‘Jazz Roots’ concept onto the next stage.

A GSA graduate, Amy tours widely with the UK’s number one concert guitarist Richard Durrant on a regular basis, and is releasing her own LP later this year. She has worked with Andrew and Becky from the band on the ‘Songs from a Ledge’ blues musical which ran to packed houses and five star reviews in November 2014.
